Our Story

Since 2022, we have been a high school volunteer club based in California dedicated to environmental activism and global awareness. Our focus is on raising awareness and taking action to combat the critical issue of global warming caused by human activities. Through volunteer efforts, campaigns, and educational initiatives, we strive to inspire others to join us in the fight to protect our planet. We aim to spread the word about the urgent environmental challenges we face and to show that, together, we can heal the Earth. Every individual has the power to make a difference, and by uniting our efforts, we can create a sustainable and thriving future for all.

Alexander Ahn is a co-founder of the Green Earth Society and an environmentalist with a passion for biodiversity, conservation, and sustainability. As a current sophomore at Harvard-Westlake School, he exhibits academic excellence with activism, working to educate peers and organize projects, focusing on climate awareness, such as recycling and reusing. He plans, organizes, and works with students to lead activities such as eco-friendly movements with local farms as well. He helps manage B.L.O.O.M.'s social media account and is the website developer, designing and updating regularly through programming languages. Alexander leads outreach efforts, creates educational materials, and collaborates with local organizations to make environmental change youth-driven and accessible. His interests span from biology and ecology to public health and science communication. He is also involved in Science Olympiad, music, and volunteer initiatives that reflect his sustainability, creativity, and community values. Alexander envisions a future where environmental action is led by youth, integrated into everyday life, and focused on real solutions like reducing waste, protecting biodiversity, and creating sustainable communities.

Rachel Park Co-Founder

Rachel Park is an environmental advocate and artist with a deep passion for sustainability and climate justice. Growing up in Los Angeles, she was first introduced to environmental stewardship by her grandmother, who taught her to compost, reuse materials, and care for the garden with intention. These early lessons sparked a lifelong commitment to protecting the planet and finding creative ways to live in harmony with it. Rachel has led youth-driven initiatives focused on climate education, waste reduction, and community resilience. She believes that real change is built both through collective action and the small, everyday choices we make—from what we buy to how we care for others and the earth. With a background in art and psychology, she brings both creativity and empathy to her environmental work, and she’s especially interested in the intersection of climate and public health. She’s excited to continue growing alongside a community of changemakers committed to sustainability and justice.

David Park Co-Founder

Picture
David Park's background is rooted in applied mathematics, economics, and the sciences—fields he's used to explore solutions for real-world issues. David has authored four research papers in econometrics and statistics, with a focus on using data to improve lives through smarter investing, better policy, and sustainable innovation. Through B.L.O.O.M., he's shifted my lens toward the environment. The Earth is our only home, and its health is deteriorating—air pollution, habitat loss, species extinction, and climate change worsen every day. But small acts matter. Even recycling your plastic container after lunch can create ripple effects. With his research, writing, and community action, David aims to empower others with the tools—economic insights, data, and optimism—to protect what we all love. Let’s clean our oceans, streets, and shared spaces. Let’s fight for the future. And most importantly, let’s do it together.

Troy Chung Co-Founder

Co-founder of B.L.O.O.M. and an environmentalist, Troy Chung is dedicated to community led change and sustainability. He was raised in Koreatown, Los Angeles, and spent his childhood going to Malibu Beach with his two older brothers, which turned into a sanctuary for him. His passion to preserve the natural areas that influenced his early years was sparked by witnessing it tainted by trash. Troy is a junior at Campbell Hall High School, and is enthusiastic about cleaning up underserved communities like his own and reducing garbage. He manages B.L.O.O.M.'s social media account and has taken part in many campus environmental initiatives and beach clean ups. He thinks that action is the first step toward change, not waiting. He wants to encourage people to take care of their neighborhoods and protect the environment for future generations to come.

David Han Co-Founder

David Han is a co-founder of Green Earth Society, dedicated to protecting the planet through education and local action. After witnessing the growing threat of wildfires across California, he began researching their impact on climate change and biodiversity. As a senior at Woodbridge High School, David leads environmental outreach across Orange County, including composting programs with local farms and K-12 education on sustainability. He also contributes to the B.L.O.O.M. Club by helping organize campus cleanups and leading workshops on climate awareness. David is especially passionate about preserving ecosystems, such as coral reefs and mangrove forests, in Australia, where unique species face growing risks from pollution and rising temperatures.

Harry Ju Co-Founder

Harry Ju is a Senior currently attending Sierra Canyon School and is a Co-Founder of B.L.O.O.M. Having participated in several events at his school focused on the environment and having learned about it in his science classes, Harry wishes to use B.L.O.O.M. as a way to not only promote further support for environmental security but also to suggest new forms of prevention. He wishes to use writing as a way to illustrate the stark differences between The US’ treatment of environmental issues and other countries as a form of both criticism and betterment of United States policy towards such issues, as well as comparing prior policy efforts regarding climate change and those of the present—writing them in articles and other forms of media. He also hopes to expand the outreach of B.L.O.O.M. by showing the initiative in other countries. No matter the activity, however, he hopes to inspire more people to join B.L.O.O.M. and the fight against climate change in general.

Tiffany Kim – Advisor

Picture
Tiffany Kim is a distinguished educator and environmental advocate whose life’s mission is to empower the next generation to lead meaningful, global change. Her academic foundation was built at the prestigious Harvard-Westlake School and deepened at Columbia University, where her passion for sustainability and education intersected with real-world purpose.

She was accepted to a few of the most prestigious graduate programs in the nation—including Columbia University—each recognized for academic excellence and global impact. Rather than continuing straight into graduate studies, Tiffany made the intentional decision to take a purposeful gap year, dedicating her time to student mentorship, educational consulting, and climate advocacy.
As the advisor to the B.L.O.O.M. Environmental Club, Tiffany plays a hands-on role in guiding student leaders to launch impactful initiatives—from local sustainability campaigns to climate action and public awareness efforts. She believes that meaningful change begins with empowered youth and works tirelessly to equip students with the confidence, tools, and vision to lead with purpose. No matter the path ahead, Tiffany is unwavering in her mission to serve humanity through education, inspired leadership, and bold action that leave a lasting impact.
